Songs from the Heart gives a complete overview of all the 54 photographers who exhibit their work at BredaPhoto 2014. A beautiful reference work filled with photos and background information.

Romanticism is a word with multiple meanings. It points to a historic period and the ideals from that time, but it has also become a cuss word, an accusation of uninspired kitsch. This area of tension is the starting point of the sixth edition of BredaPhoto international photo festival. More than fifty photographers have approached Romanticism in the 21st century in their own way. Some regard it from a distance; others are directly influenced by the Romantic heritage. And some can only come to one conclusion: I am a Romantic.

With ‘Beauty must be truth’, an essay by Maarten Doorman. And works by: Guy Archard, Karmen Ayvazyan, Henny van Belcom, Eline Benjaminsen, Charlotte Boeyden, Chen Boijan, Karin Borghouts, Eelco Brand, Andrew Bush, Tom Callemin, Lisa van Casand, Emre Celikcan, Bert Danckaert, Sven Fritz, Andrej Glusgold, Taichi Gondaira, Martijn van de Griendt, Albert Grøndahl, Alexander Gronsky, Photographer Hal, Gregory Halpern, Koen Hauser, Todd Hido, Tom Hunter, Debby Huysman, Keiitchi Ito, Jos Jansen, Martha Kamminga, Jakub Karwowski, Yves Kerckhoffs, An-Sofie Kesteleijn, Ola Lanko, Wayne Lawrence, Anne Lucassen, Joshua Lutz, Óscar Monzón, Yoshi Nagata, Asako Naharashi, Wiesje Peels, Simon Roberts, Stéphanie Roland, Jan Rosseel, Delphine Schacher, Bryan Schutmaat, Diego Slosse, Alec Soth, Ed Templeton, Rein Jelle Terpstra, Tessa Van Thielen, Jeroom Vanderbeke, Gert Verbelen, Kris Vervaeke, Hans Wilschut, Mariska van Zutven.
